It Might be your MAF (mass air flow) sensor. If that is the problem your check engine light should be on. in which case I would recommend going to auto zone if there is one nearby. Get them to pull the codes, the MAF sensor will more than likely come up.

It could also be an idle sensor I'm not really 110% sure how the jeeps are set up.
