When I try to grill cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich it just melts and burns. How do I grill the cheese?

You don't grill the cheese. You place the cheese between 2 slices of bread and grill the bread. The cheese will melt in the process.

You do know you're supposed to put the cheese between the slices of bread and then grill the entire sandwich? You don't grill the cheese by itself.
