It actually doesn't have to tip and some scientists think reversal is currently in progress:

That would depend upon the mechanism that was used to achieve this miraculous event. Until you can tell me how this was done, I cannot say what side effects it would have. All the mechanisms I can think of would break the Earth into a heap of rubble, in which poles would be irrelevant.
