Relative scales share the same notes. The major scale's intervals between notes go W-W-H-W-W-W-H while the minor scale's intervals go W-H-W-W-H-W-W. So if you pick the sixth note of a major scale, that note's minor scale will have the same notes. Examples, with the convenience of brackets and parentheses to show each scale's start and end: C major and A minor: [C D E F G (A B C] D E F G A) F major and D minor: [F G A Bb C (D E F] G A Bb C D) G major and E minor: [G A B C D (E F# G] A B C D E)
