The bass port size depends on the frequency you want to run the subwoofers at, most have a recommended frequency they want to run at, so to help you out... Okay, so say I want to buy the RE Audio REX's and make a ported box. http://reaudio.com/woofers.html#goto_rex the recommendations on the 12" woofer suggest I tune the box to 35hz, which is optimal for the speaker. You should go to a website, or the box that came with the subwoofer to find the recommended frequency, or if the box should even be ported. For example, the kenwood kfc-w3012 I have suggest I keep the box sealed. To tell you how big to cut it, and where, and what frequency you need, I need to know the subwoofer model and brand. Comment me back if you want a suggestion on how big, and where to port it.
