  • Considering some of the past winners (Shimon Peres, Kissinger) The point of it is definitely not to reward those who are genuinely the single greatest beacons of peace in the world. While there are incredibly worthy winners, I think that its a bit of a joke.
  • To recognise that there are some individuals who are able to talk a good talk, if not walk the walk, concerning peace. Or, to find other ways to bring about peace other than by the end of a gun.
  • In theory the prize is supposed to be given to the individual(s) who have made great contributions to the cause of world peace. It was created and endowed by the Swedish munitions manufacturer Alfred Nobel. +4
  • To encourage debate as to what drugs the Norwegian parliament is using.
  • To gradually piss away what little is left of Alfred Nobel's formerly vast estate. Now when do I get my prize eh?
