The 12-step party line is an absolute no. but it's almost an oxymoron. You go to these groups and therapy and learn your sobriety skills, that are supposed to be the center of your life. Then it's said do not fraternize after you've spilled your guts to all these people. Even if you become co-dependent on each other, better than hanging out w/ crackheads in an alley. I think it's a genuinely stupid rule.

Why the hell not? If they get interested in something else besides their addiction, it's probably a good start.
