Three big reasons why you would attend church Fear of God or peers. I am scared that God will not love me if I do not go to church, or I am scared that the people in my community will judge me To feel close to God. Some people feel closer to God when in a place of worship. They feel it is a place where God's presence is especially strong. Finally the category that I fit into. Churches are one of the best places to go to learn about religion and your place in it. People devote their lives to reading the scriptures and what better person to learn from then them?

Personally, to make them feel good about themselves and that they're doing the right thing. I believe you don't have to go to church to have a relationship with God. I don't think it's important at all. How you choose to "worship" is your choice.

Maybe to get to know other people that go to church. But no it is not important to attend church.
