They aren't a "religious" group, Jim.
They are a terrorist group; nothing more, nothing less.
There IS a difference between religious groups and terrorist groups.

A religious group that is afraid of the poor who are putting two and two together and discovering that the 'infidels' treat them better than their 'liberators'.
The crazy kind. Religion can get so righteous sometimes its hard to comprehend.

It is the policy objective of the Taliban to take control of Pakistan Government in the shortest possible time.
To achieve this objective people they have struck by terror attacks must stay in penury.
Humanitarian considerations of the UN Food Program comes in their way.
So they try to bomb the entire program by a suicide bomb attack.
Taliban is the most fundamentalist of all Islamic groups.
They will take the word meanings of verses in their holy book and will not care for a broader view on human values.
This act of terrorism is only to be expected of the Taliban.
Nothing extraordinary here.
Another sketchy group of Taliban Hamilton Accies takes out a UN soup kitchen. Strategic, definitely strategic.

The Taliban is a far right Islamic religious group. They use their religion to justify their terrorism.
by mymoonq on October 6th, 2009
They are a religious group. Liberals try to defend them saying that they are not because Muslims normally vote for liberal politicians. Also, the enemy of my enemy is my friend comes into effect. Unfortunately selling morality for votes has been a winning strategy as the American population irreversibly changes.

@Mensan: Thanks for the input, +6.
@malevolentbutticklis: There may be some liberals willing to kow-tow to terrorist, but they certainly do not represent the majority of the US population or even the majority of its liberals. That's an absurd and disgusting claim. There are over 2 billion Muslims in the world, and they are certainly not all just like the Taliban.
