Some schools have a set of books for the classroom and a separate set that the kids take home and leave at home for homework for a semester at a time.

Yes. Great question. This is the publishing companies printing heavier, heaftier books every year in order to justify for new edition and ridiculously high prices. I am a teacher and i cant even lift some texbooks with one hand, I am 5'2" and 115 lbs. There should be restriction on book weights and wasting page after page of on empty content. well that is my 2 cents

See if they can roll those back packs with wheels. My children cant. I feel the same way.

Boy do i agree. My granddaughters bag weighs more than she does. I think its terrible bringing home every single book. She has to, she says. Then there's notebooks and binders. What happened to their lockers? They must always be empty. I can't see a solution. She can't use the roller either. All these kids are going to have bad back problems in their 20s.
