Will Al Gore run for President? Would he be the best Democratic candidate?

I feel that Mr. Gore is a very intelligent man. But, sometimes, the highly intelligent have difficulty interacting and communicating with the average person in the street. I've seen Mr. Gore exhibit this problem. Further, because he believes so strongly in the need to address the problem of global warming, he has ignored the other difficulties faced by our society. Therefore, he looks like a one trick pony and has lost mass appeal. As a result, I do not feel that he would be the best Democrat to run, nor do I feel that he should run.

He is the best person of any party and I wish he would run. However, I don't think he'll be filing election documents for that office. Even if he should run, his political enemies are all geared up to do a "Swiftboat" job on him. I doubt if he wants to wade through all the muck of the increasingly filthy election process in the USA again. Gore has bigger issues on his plate these days and probably doesn't want to dilute his plans for a cleaner planet with the "compromises" high profile politicians must necessarily make with special corporate interests.

Since I agree with his standings on environmentalism and all that, I think he'd be great; he's the most proactive. However, he's repeatedly assured people that he is NOT running. Sorry.
