• The attitude of Texans that their state is so great is one of the really unattractive things about Texas. Most of them have seen Oklahoma. Those of us who travel know that even changing planes in Texas can be unsavory.

• Fairness indeed...you already know where I'm from. You may or may not even know about the rich history of this Texas, where not one but six separate conflicts were fought over independence. Texas was its own republic with treaties signed with other nations before it surrendered its status to become a member of the union. The Alamo and other historically significant venues in Texas are just a part of the cultural landscape. With our natural resources, technology and commerce, we could conceivably stand very well on our own without any help from the rest of the union. I dare say none of you can make the same claim. And since the notion of fairness was addressed by Talimze...where do you all claim to be from? I'll wager your state's history can't match the same claims as Texas.

• The Texican War -- in which the Alamo siege occurred -- was because you guys wanted slavery. And you got it. Things haven't changed much, either. You execute people rashly and there is a nice kid in one of your prisons serving life for one marijuana cigarette. Texas history, glorious to the giant intellects of Texas, isn't so great. Oh, and people from the original 13 colonies, California, Oregon, and Washington have actually richer histories. It's that self absorption you've got for dumb things that makes me wish you guys would secede (again) and just be your own country and let the civilized world go on without you.

• Where in ND? I lived and worked in Wells County, Fessenden, ND but I have been all over the State in the 13 years I lived there.

• The Capital. Very nice town. I like the Capitol building. The skyscraper capital. It was built in the 1930's and a lot of the labor was WPA. They did excellent work.

• I agree. Bismarck is the most wonderful place in the world :) In my opinion at least. I really do love ND. I think what I enjoy the most is the misconceptions some people have about it.

• I got to know it very well while growing up. I believe ND is a little slice of heaven. :) When I traveled around to other places, I loved hearing what people thought about it! Honestly, college educated people were so surprised to find out that we not only had the internet, but indoor plumbing!

• Yep. I actually rented three houses there where the outdoor biffy was still on the property. Two were on farm places one one was in a small town. LOL

• Yes, there was. However, on one farm place the sewer was bad so we used the out door one a lot. This was for just a short period of time though.

• Thank goodness!!!!!! However, you can't help but love it. There are so many tiny, obscure towns, but when you go to places like Bismarck and Fargo, there's nothing about the cities that seems unusual or sceams "NORTH DAKOTA COUNTRY HICKS!"
