I keep all of mine except for one locked in foam padded cases. The one that I keep out is stored with ammunition in a place that is easily accessible in an emergency, yet known only to my mother and I.

I have several guns, but only one I use for home protection. It's loaded & stored where only I know where it is. For safety, there's no round chambered.

California state law mandates that all firearms be secured in a safe, so that's where our's are and, with two beautiful grandbabies, I'm not about to disobey that law!

There's always a hand gun at arms reach even if I'm in the shower but never one in sight.

5 "Weapons" and most all within easy reach in any emergency. It's just that I know where they are. Anyone else would spend a few hours finding mine.

Both actually, there are many safes on the market that keep curious hands away and have easy instant access even in complete darkness. Shop around.
