Why do we not eat Horse meat?

Cause I don't like how it tastes? ;) I like buffalo, so who knows. I think our culture is just more attached to horses and consider them intelligent animals, just like dogs and cats. Other societies have no problem with eating them.

Many people eat horses meat, but it's not very popular. It's called tasso in some countries.

I think as a basic rule, we only eat things we don't consider particularly attractive. Most people think horses are beautiful. Dogs, Cats etc. fall into the same category. They're too cute and they live with us. Of course, there are more reasons.

Pure custom, basically. It used to be quite commonly eaten in France. Similarly, we don't eat dogs, but Koreans do. In out culture, it is regarded as unacceptable to eat animals of the same species as those that many of us keep as pets. There is no reason for this other than custom.
