Good service is a full cup of coffee or tea. never having to wave someone down, for a refill. good service is a smile, being attentive and a genuine concern for her patrons. Bad service is a hit and run. she was there in the beginning, someone else brought the food and your waitress has left the building. to have to ask for a refill, ask for the check and ask what happened to your waitress? Good service receives a 20% plus tip. Bad service receives a "Thank You" on a napkin.

Good service is a smile and friendly greeting. A sincere attempt to get our order correct. Drinks refilled prompty but not so often that I feel smothered or hovered around. Poor service makes me feel like I am a burden to be there. Poor service is standing at my tableside and telling me your life story while I am trying to eat. Poor service is not checking back to see if the order is correct or addressing the problem appropriately if there is one.

Good service is service that you remember, mention to your friends come will return for to experience it again. Bad service is service you hope to forget, complain about and vow never to return to.
