They recommend trading your car within the first 3 years or 30,000 miles, after that you wont get a good deal on a trade unless you know how to work the system.
-
The longest I think we've kept a car before trading it in was 5 years.
-
Until it becomes more expensive to repair it then it becomes to getting a different car.
-
I drive my cars until they die. My last car had 250,000 miles on it, so I don't think I would have gotten much on a trade. I'm not a big fan of car payments, so one a car is paid off I'm loath to start new debt as long as it is running well.
-
I like to keep it until the parts store stops carrying parts for it because it's too old. My husband usually makes me trade it in in about 4 years.
-
Generally, 10 years. One of the keys to financial success for working people is to hold on to a car for as long as it is financially viableto do so (don't put $3K of repairs into a car that is worth $500.)

Most dealerships will give u the least amount possible. You need 2 know the blue book value in order 2 know how much you should get for it so the dealer won't screw u. Trading it in is faster and easier, but flat out sellin it on your own is more profitable.

about every 2-2.5 years

When considering the relative financial burdens of keeping your current automobile or buying something new, don't forget to include costs associated with insurance and property/luxury taxes.

a year or until it is totald
-
Not an issue for me. Mine die.

The only way to WIN in the car game is to wear out the car. forget about trying to get a good trade in at a dealer. They want to give you the lowest trade in value. Owning a car is a poor investment - it is just a tool to get you where you need to go.
-
as long as you want to
-
You should keep it as long as it satisfactory meets your needs. A car is a disposable item - you use them up and you dispose of them when they no longer are useful.
-
I don't know. You're the one with the car.
-
How long does it remain "new"? Kinda like "how many dogs can you put into an empty doghouse"? The longer you have it the more it pays for itself.
-
If you want to be frugal, keep it as long as possible as long as it's not generating large expenses for repairs.
-
Until it's old
