Why do parakeets loose there feathers and then die

    It could have been old, or sick, or neglected. A lot of birds pull out their feathers when they are disoriented from sickness, or when they are depressed from neglect. Rarely, a bird will just have a bad habit, usually from being mistreated. Also, malnutrition could be a culprit; if the bird wasn't getting the proper amount of food, water, air, and sunlight it could have lost its feathers and then gotten so bad it died. Same thing happens to people when they have bad nutrition: their hair falls out. Did you have or know a bird that died?
