  • Yep. What is exactly the question?
  • I don't understand. Are you saying that atheists who are criminals get to enjoy their life after committing their crime just because they don't believe in God? If that is your assumption, you should consider reeducating yourself on what exactly atheism is.
  • You are confusing brother.
  • Please do clarify your question. Are you asking about ultimate justice or what? I recently had a Christian tell me that even the most violent criminal like someone who had raped and murdered children would go to heaven if he confess to God before he dies where as a person who has lived a good life but never sought the Lord will go to hell. I find this sort of thinking odd myself.
  • If there is no God, then criminals getting away with their criminal activity can be only blamed on the weak juridical system.
  • true.. anyway the crimes we know about (when reading news papers) are so much fewer than those we don't know about.. and yes, that makes sense.
  • False. You see it as a given that criminals that do not get caught are happier because of their 'successful' crime. I have looked into that a bit, and it is not correct. You see people (even criminals) have an conscience, and when they hurt others they make themselves less than they were. They develop a need to believe that the people they have wronged deserved it, a need to justify their action. In short they develop a need for hypocricy. Less able to love, less able to trust, less able to have friends. Suspicious, jealous and bitter. In a way you could say that the criminals who get caught are luckier, they gain a feeling of having atoned, and so have less need to think their fellow man evil. regards JakobA
  • I say you should go for it. If you consider never having a decent job because of your prison record, spending the best years of your life in prison being some bad man's girlfriend taking it up the poop shoot, not having kids who love and respect you because of being in jail most of their lives, and dying destitute and alone because you didn't even pay social security and your only friends are in jail, if you call that "enjoying the fruits of your crime", go for it. Let me know how it works out for you.
  • True, if there are no gods and karma then if a criminal has committed a crime, enjoys the profits, lives to a ripe old age and has not been caught then yes, he has gotten away with it. Now if there is a god/karma, depends on the sect and religion you believe. Many believe that either karma or god will balance out their god/evil and if not caught by the authorities that they will suffer on earth or in the after-life for their crimes. (Let's them sleep better at night.) Of course in many Christian sects, they believe all you gotta do is "accept Jesus into their heart" and bada boom, they are sin free with no punishment here nor the here-after.
  • I'd say it's more a matter of laziness. Most folks comfort themselves with the notion of 'ultimate justice' from Gahd. Thus they can take a pass on doing anything during this lifetime.
  • True Criminals have long life, Because ALLAh give them.
  • Yes, criminals sometimes do get away with it. Because, absent God, there is no rule of the universe that says they don't. If there is a God, he may have made such rule (or he may not). But there is no law of the scientific universe that says criminals cannot get away with it. Like there is no rule that says that selfish blighters cannot get away with it. The universe is NOT fair, and only wishful thinking can make it so.
  • Previously I asked "Would the criminal had gotten away with it if he did get earthly punished for the crime but there is no god to punish him in the hereafter?" You said, "No. Because his whole existence was one of crime and punishment." So I gave you the example and now your answer is the opposite?
  • Actually no, as I restate yet again, "Would the criminal had gotten away with it if he did get earthly punished for the crime but there is no god to punish him in the hereafter?" Meaning he did get punished while alive. Crime does pay, be realistic, are all crimes punished? "Crime doesn't pay", is a slogan used as early as the 1920's, became the official slogan for the FBI.
  • Whether or not there is a God the criminal got away with it: he didn't pay his earthly debt. His eternal debt (assuming a God to adjudicate) is actually unrelated to jail time one way or the other. Repentance is what God is supposed to be about. A criminal who serves time in jail may be just as unrepentant as one who never gets away with it. . Which is one of the appealing things about a Supreme Being - He can be counted on for perfect justice whereas a Supreme Court can't.
  • No, to restate myself, "Would the criminal had gotten away with it if he did get earthly punished for the crime but there is no god to punish him in the hereafter?" meaning if he got punished while alive. You said, "No. Because his whole existence was one of crime and punishment." So I give a more detailed example and you flip your answer.
  • That's your opinion on how they lived their lives but you don't know that for sure. Like I said before, that's your security blanket, the notion that criminals if they don't get caught, they suffer in life, but that's not reality. Sure there are serial killers who been caught who lived miserable lives, but there are also caught serial killers who lived ,until caught, satisfactory lives. From this we can surmise that some serial killers who haven't been caught, are miserable but also that some enjoy life. No you haven't been consistent and I have pointed out where. Tell me how the scenarios I gave don't work.
  • You really have no idea of correct sentence structure, do you?
  • False. God gives you free will. They have nobody to blame but themselves for being s**tbags.
  • There are many criminals who are never caught and essentially get away with their crimes. It has nothign what so ever to do with whether there is any gods or not. Besides, some of the worst criminals who do get away with their crimes for a long time are religious people.
