Without the 'meek' man would perish - the Earth does not go to their heads therefore the meek can handle the glory.

It means to have less an of ego. People with a big ego have a lust for power and dominance. They expect people to serve them and obey their will. This attitude is only going to get all of them killed in the end, since they'll never stop trying to take out the competition. The meek see themselves as more connected to everything else. They tend to be more cooperative than competitive.

It really doesn't mean anything. It just shows how they authors of the bible want people to be subservient, not standing in their way for world domination. All they will inherit is weakness and defeat.
