Bub. Considering the sheer numbers of laws we have now technically there shouldn't be ANY illegals. Just because a law is passed, doesn't automatically mean that everyone is going to abide by it.

There is no way to know untill the final bill is before congress, they keep messing with things all the time. Honestly we probably wont know for sure till it actually passes.

They will have in the bill that it doesn't cover illegals, but what they will do is find someway before the bill gets passed to legalize them so they will get covered. The democrats really want the Hispanic vote.

i can't forecast the future. if you have a strong opinion, one way or the other, tell your congressman and senators. personally, with regard to illegal aliens, i think that america ought to take LOGICAL action. (1) require every illegal alien (IA) to register. (2) send violent IAs and felon IAs back home. (3) ship out 250,000 prisoners back to their homelands - and save $10 billion a year. (4) build a wall instead of a fence since fences don't stop tunnels and we keep finding tunnels. build a wall like the israelis - 40 feet high and 20 feet into the ground. (5) since we've only kept non-violent IAs, give them a chance to prove themselves, give them access to loans so that they can study things we NEED - like engineers, NURSES, teachers, pediatricans, GPs. (6) Legalizing IAs means - we can tax IAs. Taxing the 15 million IAs in the US will generate enough taxes and Social Security and Medicare contributions to extend the life of SSA and Medicare 5 to 10 years! I've focused on the economic advantages to naturalizing / rewarding citizenship for IAs - there are also some non-economic reasons - the catholic church, many churches, moral imperative thinkers and philosophers also suggest it.

My guess is that they will still get emergency treatment.

It seems to me that it would be a particularly hard-hearted society that would not give emergency medical treatment to a person, simply because he wasn't registered with the system and, of course, an illegal alien couldn't be registered. I've just checked, and it seems to me that Mexico (the source of most of your illegal immigrants, I believe) has a state funded healthcare system for those who need it. Therefore the simple solution would be for the US and Mexican Governments to have a reciprocal arrangement with each other, the way that the EU countries have.

They will and should get EMERGENCY treatment. . There is nothing wrong with treating the dying and stabilizing them. It is morally right and it is the duty of any doctor. . But no more than that. After that they are eating resources that rightly belong to someone else.

I hate paying for illegals medical care too but I would never propose denying an injured or dying man woman or child emergency medical care. Am I wrong in thinking that the poster of this question would deny them life saving treatment? Shall we ask for papers before treating a dying person perhaps? Oh, and do you carry proof of citizenship with you at all times? What hogwash!

My prediction is that this question will become meaningless, because I am betting that Obama will make it so there are no more illegal aliens to exclude anyway. If you give them amnesty they have access. Problem solved in his eyes. Just my prediction.
