In my original answer I erroneously stated that fruits and vegetables contain almost no protein. I've since learned otherwise. However, living on a completely vegetarian diet requires careful calculation of the nutrients you get -- there's less margin for error if you don't eat meat, poultry, fish or milk. So do your research and make sure you know exactly what you're putting into your body.

You can get pretty much everything except b12. If you don't eat meat you need to take a supplement. You can get protein from beans, legumes, some nuts, and dairy products. If you take meat out of your diet you really need a regimen to be sure you are getting what you need.

Yes, but be sure you understand which foods have to be combined to give you the complex proteins you need. The best plan is to follow the advice from sites like http://www.weightlossforall.com/protein%20combinations.htm and http://www.thefruitpages.com/contents.shtml You can find a lot of information by doing a google search.
