This is something I've read on a site called How-to, I believe. When you get there look for how-to clean anything or stains or something like that. What it says to do, and I've tried it, is to sprinkle baking soda over the area and rub it in with a wet rag. What you want is paste like substance. Let it dry. Vacuum it off. It will get rid of the urine smell. The stain, depending on the color of your carpet will have to be steamed or washed with a carpet shampooer.I have an incontinent dog and this method works well for me.

You need to use a product that will break down the organic ingredients so they can be completely removed from the fabric fibers. Go on line and get a product called Scat. It will take out anything organic and other things as well, including pee and poop, human or animal. Apply it directly to the stains on the carpet or uphostery, let it sit overnight, then rinse it out with clean wet sponges and blot dry with clean towels. Or if you have a carpet machine use that. It also leaves a clean fresh scent. This product is safe enough for baby clothes. www.orendapalm.com
