Well, Dragons are not magical, and there is quite a lot of evidence that they once existed -- what scientists now call Dinosaurs -- and thus they entered into our legends and stories.

If such creatures existed today, I (and everyone) would consider them "normal," part of our everyday world, not magical, and nothing to be afraid of. However, wicked man would tend to drive away the (good) elves, and mankind would continue to restrain the largest of the dragons -- as evidently did happen (all the historical stories of great men who led exploits against and defeated the great dragons) and led to their extinction.

See these links for more interesting info about actual dragons in history:

I'm not sure dragons are really magical, more mythical. No i wouldn't as i am sure governments and military would control them.

A little bit yes, could you imagine driving down the road & with all the chemical warfare & stuff we have going now & factories it would make the little dragons sick & sneeze that wouldn't be to cool if your sitting in traffic & suddenly your trapped & burned because of a sneezing dragon. Though fairies & elves are suppose to be nice, you know somebody somewhere would try to mess them & tick them off or do some horried experiment to make them mean. Don't know about you but I wouldn't want a serial killing fairy throwing poisonous dust on me & smacking me in the head with a throwing star sharpened wand. Or the little elves putting exlax chocolate on your shortbread cookies, oh the horror in the thought of it.

as for the dragons however... I would only hope we could control them

No, not at all. I've lived for 30 years so far, and have never been bothered by any fairy tail creatures, so if they do exist somewhere, they don't really bother me too much.

I think I would start a religion dedicated to whatever creature attacked me first, so I could live under their protection.

    Only of the violent ones.

I would not be afraid of elves, fairies, pixies, etc because they are supposed to be nice.

I would not be afraid of Asian dragons because they were also supposed to be nice.

to be honest if all various races of the female elves looked like liv tyler did in lord of the rings(she was the sexiest elf ive ever seen.) i wouldnt mind at all.

as for dragons, pixies, fairies dragons, mermaids, nymphs and all other magical or mythological creatures i wouldnt be bothered too much by it nor the existance of magic as its depicted in many a fantasy book.

yeah it would suprise me at first if they started showing up out of the blue and were seen on news reports world wide, but i wouldn't start thinking its the end of the world though.

and as long as our society didnt revert completely back to the dark ages then iwouldnt fret. i mean i thik we can all agree that the world has been made better by technological break throughs like indoor plumbing and all the advancements in modern medicine.

No, I'd be happy to know that magical life goes on and thrives. And even just to see a dragon, that would be bliss, because I'm fascinated by them. I've even got a dragon/forest theme going on in my room. =o)

Nah. Though I would probably make sure to stay out of the zones with the dragons and orc in them. I don't have the armor necessary to fight a dragon, nor the skill in waving a sword around. And I don't have any magical abilities, so I couldn't do that, either.

Dragons DID exist, according to the Welsh people's history. The story was basically about 2 dragons, one white and one red. The red dragon won the fight, so the Welsh put the red dragon on their country's flag, to honour the red dragon ... or it was something like that. It was ages ago when I read it, so a few details are likely missing. But, it proves a point; if dragons are mentioned in history, they must have existed at some time, even if they aren't around now (though we don't know that for sure, because the earth has many places for any size of a creature to hide without being detected). But, anyway, in answer to your question; no. Because as long as we give them no cause to, they shouldn't harm us. I feel a certain kinship with dragons (I collect dragon stuff for my bedroom, and I was born in the Chinese year of the dragon). Maybe we're not so different. =o)

No...and if we're talking Tolkien-type elves, that would be pretty cool. Dragons, I'm not so sure about, unless we're talking Anne McCaffrey.
