Nice try, but no cigar. Your not buying a car, etc., has no impact on my financial well being. But if you don't have health insurance and then require medical care - that costs me and everyone else.

No one should be required to buy anything. The whole comparison of required auto insurance to required health insurance fails in that you must own a car to be required to buy insurance, and that insurance is to protect others.
