Not only does the community want to know if they committed a felony, but if there was bankrupsy. Would you want your treasurer or someone in the officer position with the potential to ruin the financial future of the board? They cannot be bonded, which should be part of your insurance...so that the association cannot be sued. This has happened. These questions are crucial for a healthy board and association. Your volunteers need to be asked these questions. It is the duty of the community to make sure the association is proper. Get a copy of your bylaws, request it. Further a copy of state statute, and pat them on the back for their help, but make sure they are on the up and up too.
