Pretty much indifferent to policies. They don't stop terrorist activities. Even hard-liners like Bush-Cheney couldn't stop the 9/11 attack.

If someone really wants to blow something up, they can do it, regardless of who is in power. It really isn't that hard. Heck, even I have enough knowledge and enough access to set of homemade explosives in many important buildings in my city, a politician won't change that any time soon. Even hard-liners can't stop attacks if people are determined enough.

I live in a pretty small town, but it's close to the Dow Chemical Plant. If I lived in a major city, I'd be feeling a little edgy. He doesn't seem to be taking this very seriously.
