Oh! You're confused. He was talking about his most recent bathroom visit

The mission was not over, however the war was. What we are watching now is America trying to police a country from sectarian violence, there is a difference.

You are making the mistake of assuming Bush is connected to reality in the same way that most people are. He's not. When he boasted "mission accomplished", he meant it. Of course, by that he meant that Iraq's military had been defeated AND the Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance headed by General Jay Garner was dissolved AND L. Paul Bremer was heading up the Coalition Provisional Authority AND Bremer had dissolved the Iraqi Army AND Bremer had purged the civil service of Baath party members AND the administration had gotten away with sending 1/3 of the necessary troops to Iraq. That meant that chaos was sure to ensue, allowing Bush to enrich his family and business cronies (Halliburton, Blackwater, et. al.) with no-bid government contracts and the high oil prices created by the chaos. In short..."Mission Accomplished" Now, if we're naive enough to believe that he was referring to some 'mission' that was for the good of the American people, that's our problem, not his.

It referred to the war in Iraq - normal combat. What followed after that was guerrilla warfare.
