Well look around. It's being compared to Canadian and English single payer systems. It's not even close to that. People re yelling and screaming about doctors sitting on death panels. What they fail to mention is we have panels right now, overseen by accountants. Who'd you rather your panel be run by a doctor who's job it is to heal the sick, or an accountant who's job it is to save the company money? There's so many lies out there from the Republican "spin" machine that very few people understand what is actually going on. Fear is easier to generate than hope.

Maybe those Americans who are satisfied with the current health system are satisfied because they do not have serious health needs or a disability! A system which is 'user pays' and relies on the discretion of insurance companies for medical cover does not respect all people as equal. If education in the States is free to all why not health care? To me this is an ethical issue, it is moral.
When a country is run on individualism all sorts of people fall between the cracks and come out badly. Individualism screams 'I don't want to pay taxes for other people to get the medical care all people should be entitled to'. I live in Australia and our system means ALL people are entitled to free health care. We pay higher taxes than the States but I am more than happy to do that knowing that by doing so I am part of a system that values people regardless of their wallet size.
I think people are scared of sharing if they are not used to it.

Why is the White House pushing the Healthcare Package down our throats, when Americans do not want it?

Could it be to pay the tremendous medical bills created by the illegals in our country?

The law is there to give illegals free healthcare at hospital emergency rooms.

I guess the feds expect the good citizens of the U.S. to now foot this bill.

Is this why the big push is on?

    What else could it be?

    2 words:

    Bloated Government.

When ISO came out, this was hailed as a boon for selling overseas. Now 10 years later, many companies find it's MORE costly to do this, due to paperwork and such.

Can this proposal be different? Hardly.

Most Americans are satisfied with their current health care. Thus they oppose these significant attacks on our freedoms, now that we can see some of the details and the huge cost which will be imposed on us, resulting in much higher taxes.

America was founded and has thrived on liberty, meaning individual freedom. Nothing happens in a vacuum. Any power the government takes means less liberty for the individual. This is the basic founding principle of America. Obama does not get this. He does not understand the fundamentals of his nation, it's founders intent and so he ignores the Constitution, as do all liberals. They don't get it. They are America's cancer, and the greatest threat liberty has known since the time of Adloph Hitler.
