  • Pinched nerve. Probably sciatic nerve. It is very painful. Stay off your feet as much as you can, apply heat when possible. Unfortunately if that is what it is you have to wait it out. Good luck.
  • Do you still have mobility or just the pain? It can be different things depending on the answer to that. The sciatic nerve thing is a possibility, though it often leads to numbness and pain down the leg and the back, not -just- the hip. If it is just the hip, and you also have some mobility issue it could be bursitis. Arthritis is one of the most common causes of hip pain. It could also be Tendonitis.
  • I am going through the same thing-it sounds like. Have you ever had a baby? I went to the chiroprator the other day and found out that my hip is higher than the other one. He said it happens to 1 out of about 50 women. After childbirth, your hips usually go back into place but sometimes 1, occationaly both, just lock up and dont go back. And that would be what my problem is which is causing very severe pain in my left hip, very low-left side of back, upper-left side butt, down my leg in certain positions because, depending on my movement, it can pinch the sciatic nerve which is the shooting pain down my leg. If this could be the problem, you would need to get a hip adjustment from a chiroprator which is what Ive got to do. Im scarred but he said that it doesnt hurt at all, it actually feels good, so we'll see!?! If you do go to chiroprator, you probably want to go to a regular doctor also to get pain medication for the time being! Good luck!!!
