• Funny how one Timothy McVeigh seems to outweigh all other terrorist considerations for some folk. It seems very unbalanced to focus on TM's one act when discussing the main security threats to the US.

• I answered Timothy McVeigh, because he was a terrorist. And he was homegrown.
  
  It was my attempt to point out is that it's the homegrown terrorists who stand to gain the most in their 'fight'.
  
  So far this year, we've had extreme Conservatives get shot in an attempt to start a holy war in D.C. with his anti-semitism. And one Conservative walk into a Church and shoot an abortion doctor. Another in the throes of a divorce, tries to shoot his exwife, in church.
  
  I'm noticing a pattern.

• I've heard about these incidents but, bad though they are, shooting targeted individuals kinda pales into relative insignificance in light of the genuinely greater threat of large-scale terrorist attacks on citizens. Tim M's attack was an isolated mass killing case. Not good but not the bigger picture. Not 100% clear on what you mean by 'it's the homegrown terrorists who stand to gain the most in their 'fight'. Are you saying there's a danger the occasional Tim M. will be overlooked if we focus too much on, for example, extremist Islamist terrorists? If so, that's a bit like saying that watching how you cross the road is futile because you could still get hit by a meteorite.

  I am a moderate I do not lean to the L or R . I want what is best for America and the free world. I am a Lou Dobbs watching independent. It is time the Politicians started working together to help the Middle Class people and not the lobbyist. Both parties are at fault.
  Both sides have good ideas they need to find ways to compromise. Partisanship hurts everyone.

  We are not safe as long as their unwarranted hate rages on. I am not a Conservative but on this issue they have it right.
