Do you have any insurance? If not, I nave no idea. I had insurance when mine were removed. If it's only one it will not cost you a grand. Probably $200-300 dollars at the most.

They don't have to be removed, but for many people they cause big problems. The mouth can become overcrowded, and teeth can be pushed out of line, or they can grow up abnormally. They can cause sinus problems. How annoying is it? Is it causing you real pain? If it is, get a doctor to look at it, or go to the dentist and see what they think. You could even go to a dental school and offer to be a patient-sometimes they do dental work for very little and all students are supervised. Would you believe that I have NO wisdom teeth? I have had my mouth xrayed and they NEVER formed. I wonder what that means...am I a mutant? lol

G'day Romiex69x, Thank you for your question. They are generally extracted when they affect other teeth but left alone otherwise. Clinical evidence recommended "While it is clear that symptomatic impacted wisdom teeth should be surgically removed, it appears that extracting asymptomatic, disease-free wisdom teeth is not advisable due to the risk of damage to the inferior alveolar nerve." I would leave it be unless it is causing you problems or pain. If that is the case see a dentist. I have attached sources for your reference.
