Hiya, SPQ! Sometimes, I DO notice them. Usually, it;s when I'm wearing a material that easily slips around, anyway, such as a rayon or satin. The shoulder pads can then be kind of an annoyance, but it really isn't all their fault :) +5

Right now I am trying to think if any of my blazers have them in. I am sure they must do, so I guess I must be entirely unaware!

I notice them in others because if I wore them, I would look like a quarterback. I'm glad they're coming back in. Style lately has been blah. So next, bellbottoms? +5

I have worn a gorgeous fitted jacket of my mums but the shoulder pads i couldn't handle! I naturally have kind of broad shoulders for a girl and as i'm short wearing shoulder pads seems to make me feel even smaller lol :) +5

Hi ShoulderPadQueen! Actually I don't wear many clothes with shoulder pads, except the occasional suit. My summer, and casual apparel, and my work clothes do not include shoulder pads. I am quite comfortable in my diverse clothing, and while I am aware of unique aspects of each, am not overly conscious of shoulder pads in a suit jacket. Good question! +5 :-)

Not many of my outfits have them anymore, as they are a little outdated. But, when I did I was always aware because they used to slip alot.

Shoulderpad aren't a problem for me. It's that rolled up sock that I strategically stick in my underdrawers that's uncomfortable. :-)

Like shoulderpads under clothing? Um, when I did wear them, back in the 80s and 90s, I did notice them a bit because they tend to bunch up, especially after you wash them.

...mine were cut out & used as "nipple pads" inside my bra until I discovered "Walco bras that are made thick enough that is all you need...for those who have...shall we say, erect little soldiers beyond the call of duty..."...LOL...bet you didn't expect an answer like this, ShoulderPad....BTW...one day teaching (8th greade)...I looked down at the floor & saw one of those cut out shoulder pads (that had apparently somehow worked it's way out of my bra)...I kept teaching & nonchanlantly scooped in up in the middle of a lesson...no one noticed...but don't think I ever was comfortable wearing them again..lol...

Why am I not surprised that you ask this question? LOL, well, I only have shoulder-pads on some jackets and coats...and no, I don't notice them since they are sewn in between the liner and the actual...like they're not flopping around or anything. I don't like shoulder-pads!

What I notice is that those women who wear them seem somewhat less feminine to me than those who don't. That is because I associate them with Joan Crawford in the 40's and she always played a tough broad. It's weird that I would think of her every time...I guess her shoulderpads were enormously big and I remember focusing on them rather than on her in the movie. Now, I don't think that was what the fashion designer or director necessarily wanted but that's all I ever remember seeing was the shoulderpads. They were a star in their own right and always stole the scenes from Joanie! :)

I don't notice them the majority of the time. I have owned a few shirts that gave me 'fits' with the shoulderpads! I'd say 98% of the time, I don't notice them.

If they are huge, then I am aware of them, as I keep seeing them out of the corner of my eye - and I find it difficult to walk through doors
