Military veterans: do you wish you stayed in, or are you glad you separated? Why?

I would have stayed in if I could. I tried to re-enlist while I was in Iraq, but once I lost the hearing in one ear I was deemed "Non Deployable" which is a death sentence for us grunts.

Both. I didn't like the idea of not doing my part in Afghanistan or Iraq. (Even though I thought that Iraq was and is unnecessary). Disability ratings kept me from doing my fair share. But being a part of a combat team, is indescribeable.
