Would the military tell us the real truth about the status of our various wars? Doesn't the military have a vested interest in war?

RIAM, don't listen to the hippy who never put on the uniform. It's all worth it.
by Hardcore Conservative on September 23rd, 2009
There are no hippies anymore, oh, they are mostly in Hollywood now, or turned into rappers. IF you are hell bent on joining a service go for the Navy or the Air Force (Air Force as a riority). I don't see the US having the moxie to go fight anyone with an air force or navy that could but up even .001% of a fight against what the US has. So your chances of being maimed, injured, or KIA by any hostle fire would be less than getting a paper cut from a slice of milk toast. You are a flyboy you are thousands of feet in the air with no air fighters coming after you, and if you are a squid you are way out to sea lobing shells and chucking cruise missle. Sarah Palin would have a better chance seeing Russia from her house than you would have seeing the enemy.

Shows how much you know about the military. Out of the 320,000 on active duty in the AF, only 13,000 are pilots. The AirForce and Navy are not just stuck in planes and boats, respectively.

All of your replies smell of cowardice.
by Hardcore Conservative on September 23rd, 2009
Then I guess 307,000 cowards who are way behind the lines never a chance to see the whites of their enemies eyes, and another 13, 000 cowards hiding in the clouds. If I were a coward I would have joined one of those branches, but I did not. What I was, was a young fool fed a bunch of BS and hype. If there was a single thing I would undo in my life, joining would be it. Why are you here and not out on patrol somewhere showing how brave YOU are?
