Is it possible to replace cars?

    It would be impracticle. What would you replace it with? Not trains - too much track to lay and cost prohibative. Buses would be a nightmare to board at rush hour and the routes would have to be expanded leading to greater increase in the numbers and the carbon emmissions that would be produced. Walking would be ok for short distances, but wouldn't want to walk 300 miles to see my relatives or even 19 miles to see other half.

    No. The government gives car companies money to survive. They have so much money that electric cars and other innovative alternatives cannot compete.
