  • Because they're afraid you'll flip out.
  • Nobody knows what someone will do when they're laid off. And people do some very bad things;)
  • Usually you dont (any they let you pack your stuff and leave never to return...) If they do its cause they're afraid you'll try to do something like steal stuff or sabotage their work etc cause your mad you got laid off
  • Because once you are 'Laid Off' you are no longer a member of staff. Therefore in law you are now a Trespasser and no longer covered by company insurance.. It's for everyones protection against law suits.
  • When someone is laid off, no matter who they are, the incompetents that laid you off have decided that you are no longer a trusted employee and this is their way of showing it. +5
  • You are no longer a trusted employee, now you might be a disgruntled ex-employee with a grudge. Who knows what you might do?
  • I've only seen people escorted out after they've been fired. If a trusted employee gets escorted out after being laid off....I'd be reading more into it...maybe the company is afraid of theft?
