Because knowing what celebrities do is the closest many people will get to living a celebrity lifestyle. If you happen to be insecure or power-hungry, then you probably have a strong inclination for reading celebrity gossip.

I think because it's conversation that everybody can get in on. Instead of just "your click" or "your crew" knowing about something, people anywhere can just jump into the conversation and then the whole atmosphere is buzzing with people interacting because everybody is familiar with the subject.

I have no idea. I suppose they dont have an interesting life at all, and get caught up in the glamour of their favorite pop star....or actor. .........OR. Their twisted lives, and divorce tails and drug abuse makes them feel better about themselves and they love to bring the high and mighty down... it always seems like they love to hate their favorite stars.

I like to hear about those celebrities who "give back" to the world, don't you? Humanitarians are under-valued it seems to me and those celebrities who put their money where their mouth is should be celebrated for their good works, in my opinion. Happy Wednesday to you! :)

Celebrities have glamorous, exciting lives, and by reading about them, people can vicariously participate. It's escapism from their dissatisfaction with the monotony in their own lives.
