If George Bush was an idiot?
Just a little Food for thought...
If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock b y 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically
significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
If George W. Bush had misspelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as proof of what a dunce he is?
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
If George W Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 5 months -- so you'll have three years and seven months to come up with an answer.

Ba ha ha ha....You better go back and look at your history again. When he started we were recovering from a mild recession. Don't you remember when the tech stocks were crashing? That wasn't under Bush.

I agree completely with this answer.

There was also a huge crash of the stock marked after September 11th to deal with. The wars being unjustified is YOUR OPINION, I have been there, and I have a different one.
by jackpipe30 on September 15th, 2009
The wars in Iraq was unjustified! Only an idiot would say different, especially considering the US government themselves said they're reasons for going to war were wrong.
by slothmister on September 15th, 2009
LOL...The above comment is why I enjoy posting these types of questions. Thanks for the entertainment Sloth.
by Sodahead on September 15th, 2009
Huh? It is serious! The US government went to war with Iraq because they had WOMD, then they turned around and said "We were wrong, there is no WOMD in Iraq".
by slothmister on September 15th, 2009
The war was/is more about the fact that Saddam Huessein ignored dozens of UN Resolutions to allow for inspections than about the intelligence that appears to have been incorrect (MIG jets in undergound storage in the desert that have unauthorized tracking systems, a couple convoys into Syria, and SCUD missile engines capable of delivering a payload of explosive farther than the 90 km limit ending up in junk yards in working order and plenty of other evidence show that saying there were no WMD's is a falsehood). There is also the fact that Hussein planned an assassination of George H.W. Bush and his military fired on US Jets every day for better than 8 years while they were patrolling the UN declared No Fly Zone for Iraqi aircraft (if you don't understand it, these things are acts of war).
by jackpipe30 on September 15th, 2009
You can sit there on your pacifist pedestal all you want and look down your nose at me and the other grunts who served there, but there is a lot more to the story than the government will release. I feel it is about rubbing countries that helped Hussein spit in the face of the UN the wrong way, and playing bullshit diplomacy instead of calling people out for the wrongs that they have done.
by jackpipe30 on September 15th, 2009
I think that Sloth forgot that a majority of both parties voted to go to war with Iraq.
by Sodahead on September 15th, 2009
I think The Partys Over needs to either STFU or bring something constructive to the conversation.
To address the war, I was and still am PRO WAR. Getting rid of SH is a huge thing and well done to the US and British for doing so as quickly as they did (even if they did fuck up the country afterwards). My point is that, simply put, the reasons the US gave for going war were false, hence the war is unjustifiable. IF the US did say "we are doing this cos of SH's constant flouting of UN resolutions" or something similar then the war is justifiable.
As for UN resolutions/laws, why are the US so anti Iran? They have NOT done anything wrong by UN laws.
by slothmister on September 15th, 2009
And 9/11 was orchestrated by Bush to start the war. Go ahead Sloth I know that you want so much to say that, don't you?
by Sodahead on September 15th, 2009
Not at all. Like I said above. You have nothing to say so shhhhhh.
I have heard all the conspiracy theories about 911 and some of them actually do have convincing story's but I still believe it was an act of terror and not an inside job.
Now, if all you have is little snide comments please take them somewhere else.
by slothmister on September 15th, 2009
Oh I have big snide remarks to. Would you like to hear them? LOL
by Sodahead on September 15th, 2009
@The Partys Over: Yes, a majority of both parties voted for the war in Iraq, because they were given reason to believe that Iraq posed an imminent threat with the ability to launch WMDs at the US mainland within minutes. Only afterwards was it revealed that not only were there no WMDs, but the administration knew there weren't.
by RC loves ice cream on September 15th, 2009
LOL....They saw the same evidence that the administration saw. Nothing was held back. Don't your arms get tired beating on that dead horse all the time?
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
Wrong. They saw the evidence that the administration chose to show them.
by RC loves ice cream on September 16th, 2009
Tommy said this, Sally said that. Joey saw this...blah blah fucking blah, RC. There has been plenty of evidence found that point to the contrary of your opinion, RC, I think that it would spark a lot of trouble were it revealed that the Russians were helping Huessein.
by jackpipe30 on September 16th, 2009
Learn more about how the United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence works and get back to me so that we can have a level headed discussion. In other words don't necessarily lap up everything that your told until you researched it yourself.
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
@jackpipe: ROFLOL!!!! You should try your hand at stand-up comedy.
by RC loves ice cream on September 16th, 2009
@The Partys Over: I have researched it myself. I know what I'm saying. Feel free to believe what you want.
by RC loves ice cream on September 16th, 2009
Then you know that the SSCI(a bipartisan committee) has access to all of the same information, people and departments that the President does. Please explain to us why every member on that committee voted to go to war with Iraq? Is it that they knew the potential that SH had or wanted?
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
They do not have access to the same information.
by RC loves ice cream on September 16th, 2009
Really? What is it that they do not have access to? Be careful, you better revisit all of your past research to make sure that you are correct.
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
You see I would expect ignorance from a person such as Sloth, but I'm a little disappointed with you RC. The fact is that what the Dems claim with the Iraq war are the same silly politics that some republicans are playing with the Obama not a US citizen BS. A little research will show the truth on both.
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
"They have the access to the same intelligence" lmao ye right!
You obviously know not what you talk about so, sit down before you hurt yourself.
by slothmister on September 16th, 2009
RC, you should try objectivity and the truth, though you might find both a bit scary since you have been told what to think by the left for so long.
by jackpipe30 on September 16th, 2009
This coming from a person that don't know what the word research means. There is a reason that I don't want sit here and debate you. Lack common sense and logic has a lot to do with it.
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
Done some research...
From http://intelligence.senate.gov/pdfs/11120.pdf
Rule 4.1 "No measures or recommendations shall be reported, favorably or unfavorably, from the Committee unless a majority of the Committee is actually present and a majority concur."
Last part is quite important here, basically it means "We tell you what we want when we want".
by slothmister on September 16th, 2009
Rule 9.6 "Access to classified information supplied to the Committee
shall be limited to those Committee staff members with appropriate
security clearance and a need-to-know, as determined by the
Committee, and, under the Committee’s direction, the Staff Director
and Minority Staff Director"
Basically meaning we tell you if we want.
by slothmister on September 16th, 2009
What? Now your just grasping at straws. LOL
Common sense and logic will help you if you just accept it.
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
There we go, at least 2 sub rules there which give the SSCI an opt out in giving all the information they have, should they wish to use it.
Note: For TPO, I am NOT claiming they did this for the Iraq war, I am simply pointing out that loop holes exist.
by slothmister on September 16th, 2009
You may not admit it but I have a pretty good feeling that you're a 9/11 truther. I can just till by the way that you hold your views. I have really spent far to much time with you. Take care....
by Sodahead on September 16th, 2009
lmao you are truly ignorant.
by slothmister on September 16th, 2009
Anyone who says that the Truther movement even has anything viable to say is an idiot, their theories do not stand up to any tests. The EMRTC at New Mexico Tech has dispelled all of them scientifically, yet they hold to their fantasy. Every time they are confronted with the truth, they hem and haw and mutter unintelligible garbage. Truly a bunch of losers.
by jackpipe30 on September 16th, 2009
Like I said before, some of the conspiracy theories are quite convincing but yes, they are all circumstantial and I do not believe any of them.
