I think it's an awesome idea. Why didn't they start doing that a long time ago?!
i think i'll just tell them i won't be smoking from now on..
I think it makes sense. It is not your car, so you shouldn't be smoking in it. If you do, so the company has to take on the cost of getting the ash and smell out, you should have to cover the cost. It is either that or have smoking and non-smoking cars like they have hotel rooms.
About time!
rip off!, instead of this stupid fee how about keeping some cars for smokers to rent out .. to me that makes a hell of a lot more sense than this discrimination against smokers
It's about time! Hotels have been doing this for years now...it's too hard when you are dealing with the public. Everyone can put up with a clean smell, but few can put up with a smoke smell and some are allergic!

You're reading Car rental places are now charging $250 fee if you smoke in their cars. What are your thoughts on this?

I don't know. It's just now becoming a smoking ban issue so maybe they are trying to keep up. There is nothing worse than being in a hotel or car where someone has been smoking. You can't get rid of the smell. Thank you
