I keep hearing that socialists are taking over the US, yet the events of the last few weeks exposes a worse enemy: lack of respect, integrity, civility, manners and an influx of vulgarity and ill will. When will we reclaim our country from this disease?

Never. You can no more discard these negative aspects as you can discard the human race, which ironically we seem to become more and more capable of doing every year, but luckily I was speaking metaphorically. That is what we are as humans, we can be nasty and unforgiving, or we can be kind and gentle. Morality is merely perspective on our parts, some will look down upon a swindler, some will say he is just "trying to survive", others will look down on the swindled for being naive. TL;DR version: As humans we must accept both negative and positive aspects of our behavior. We not ever completely overcome either of these, only subdue/hide them.

To the troll that DRed me: thank you for proving my point. I wasn't calling opponents of the Obama administration vulgar - just making a general comment about how rude society has become. Like Joe Wilson, Serena Williams, Kanye West. All are guilty of this. I rest my case, troll.
