Did Enron give money to the Taliban prior to 9-11? If so why?

They did i recon as they probably had the intention of the Taliban using the money for the benefit of Afghanistan, and not to wage terrorist war.

The gouge is that Enron gave the Taliban money in order to get an oil pipeline through Afghanistan and to pay them to protect the pipeline and keep oil flowing. There is also rumour that Enron tried to get the U.S. Gov't to use tax dollars to the same end. I don't know to what extent this is true, nor what documented and verified evidence there is of this. I DO think that both U.S. companies and the U.S. gov't have done alot in the name of oil that has yet to be discovered. And I think the truth about all of Enron's dealing probably won't be known for many years to come.
