  • It can happen that you have cramping as if you are going to start your period, but it is not really normal to have sharp pains. I would call your OBGYN just to have him check you out.
  • As long as there is no bleeding accompanying the pain, you're probably fine. I experienced some pretty intense cramping in the first few weeks of my first pregnancy. My doctor told me it was the ligaments that hold the uterus stretching out as the uterus grows.
