Good question. I don't know the answer, unfortunately, but I wanted to say I liked the question. Points to you.

Good question. I think they are not ever expunged though. And that is not right. I read an article about that a while back and this person is having to fight for it to be off his record. I hope he gets it off there. It is only right.

If they are wrongly accused their record (for that event) is erased. It will not show up on anything other than the news. For instance about a year ago a man was released from prison after 21 years who they thought had committed rape. Although he was found not guilty and his record for that event was erased. I believe that they should get something like a house, a car, and money for a couple of years after being released after 20 so years. Its really idiotic of our government

G'day Msummers10, Thank you for your question. A felon is a person who has committed a serious crime or felony. If it has been established that they were wrongly convicted and are released, they are not felons. There have been notable examples of people under those circumstances such as Lindi Chamberlain in Australia and the Guildford Four and Birmingham Six in the US. I have attached sources for your reference. Regards Reference Answers.com Felon http://www.answers.com/felon&r=67 Collins Dictionary page 540
