Yes, but not strictly Mexican. A similar 'stew' made with chili peppers, corn meal, meat, beans, tomato sauce, and other spices is found all over Central and South America.

It's debatable,according to Wiki it is only found in the tourist area's of Mexico which would suggest that it is not a traditional dish.
