What color will a fairly new (purple) bruise be in 2-3 days ? And can anything make it fade quickly?

Generally yellowish on me but I'm very fair and bruise very easily. Arnica gel supposed to help.

- Thanks Moley. I just did a search for Amica gel and found a site for it and other ways to help fade a bruise. I wish I had thought of that! I'm having a family photo taken on Sat morning and banged myself pretty good. I'm also fair and bruises are quite common for me but I don't want one in the photo.

It depends on how big it is and how hard you hit it. There's a good chance it will still be that same blackish/blueish color- or it may fade to a green/yellow- depending on your skin tone. I don't know of anything that will make a bruise go away quicker, you can try cover up though. +3

- Thanks Ruby. I banged my forehead pretty hard with a cabinet door that suddenly unstuck. I'm fair skinned and have family photo scheduled for Sat morning.
  I iced it - it's about the size of a quarter.

- Ahh it can't be THAT bad- if you're worried about it have them touch it up when they send it in- they can change all sorts of things on pictures these days.

- I hadn't thought of that. And thanks to you I looked and found a tube of cover up. When I realized the ice didn't prevent it from bruising I went into panic mode - that's over now.
