  • No not a sane person but one who is already emotionally unbalanced may become less stable.
  • First of all, no one's completely sane (the same as no one's perfect). So, it's simply a matter of whether someone suffers an emotional disappointment too big for them to handle.
  • It would probably take more than one incident to upset an emotionally stable person to the point of insanity, but if someone already has emotional problems, an emotional disappointment possibly could "push them over the edge."
  • Uh. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .yeah! That's why they call it 'TEMPORARY INSANITY'!
  • I think so. I would rather go crazy then deal with all my family, friends, and pets dying at once, losing all material things, bad health and no money and I'm left. I don't know how people make it through horrible catastrophes. Something less traumatic, we should be strong enough to make it thru sane. +5
  • When my Dad died I had to take meds so yeah I guess
  • I think a person can become irrational or oerwhelmed by emotion, perhaps not insane unless they already suffer a mental illness, as for temporary insanity I do not believe in it, I think it's an excuse to get away with murder so to speak and does not always work, because most people can go into a rage but they choose not to stop what they are doing, but they are not insane, just out of control, you will find most of these typeds hae issues with control, or aggression of some form.
  • Yes, i've experiemced it with someone close
  • Temporary insanity? Yes I believe its possible.
