Should I offer downloads and plug-ins on my Web site?

If you have and can afford the bandwidth. I've seen sites go down overnight because of bandwidth getting zapped by downloads. Plugins are only useful if they are what your traffic are after. Some sites load every plugin going and not only lose traffic but the site and site stats don't make sense.
