  • Why do people go to churches or monuments? We live in a physical world and physical representation makes it easier for us to understand and connect to things we can't see.
  • I wish i could. If for no other reason than to say things I couldn't when they were alive. Also, to remember....
  • no never been to any relatives gravesite.i don't plan on starting.they're not there you know.
  • I don't. My mother, at her request, was cremated. My brother has her ashes. I never had a father. If there is any kind of afterlife (and I believe there is), then she knows that I think of her, every single day, and that my love for her only increases, over time. +5
  • Because I'm in town and it's nice to pay my respects. My father's picture is on the headstone (even though I have pictures) and it's just nice to remember. If I'm ever in Indiana, I will visit my sister's grave for the same reason.
  • I rarely do. Most of my relatives are buried in the same cemetary and some of the stones are quite old. Sometimes i will go to look at the stones to refresh my memory as to who's who and when they lived. Knowing from God's word that the dead are sleeping (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10; John 11) i know that i can't talk to them and that they are not really in the cemetary; all that's left is some physical remains, but my loved ones are held in God's memory until the resurrection. I also have my own memories of them and don't need to go to a spot to feel closer to them. The day will come when cemetaries will cease to exist. Then we will be thrilled to see our loved ones restored to healthy life on a cleansed earth. I love and respect my dead family, but can't help them so i spend my time helping the living know how to be reunited with their own relatives and friends who have passed away.
