My best friend had the same name as me: alan. He was a great friend, sort of as a brother. We always could relate and tell each other stuff. Unfortunately school played an important role in this friendship seperating me from him to different schools. This friendship only lasted about 5 years, very memorable long-lasting 5 years.

Her name is Wendy. This year would make 27 years. We've drifted apart because our lives are now drastically different. She's addicted to "ice" which I believe is a form of methamphetamine. She isolates frequently and has extreme mood swings. She has battled addictions for many years. Time and experience has taught me that I can't help her. When I do try to discuss it with her, she becomes extremely angry. We live more than two hours apart, so I can't even drop in to check on her. I've given up.

My 1st one was Daniel,(grades 4-7). We lived on side by side streets, and did everything together. We became friends when I stopped some guys from picking on him because he was from Mexico. My parents moved me to another city and I didn't see him again until my wedding. It was really funny, because I was talking to my cousins, (who still lived in the same city as Daniel), and they said, "You were HIS best friend? He was the most popular guy in high school! Man, he is good looking"! It made me happy that the guy who used to go on family vacations with us, the little guy with the horned-rimmed glasses with the tape in the middle, actually made it. If you would have seen us then, we would have been "most likely" to disappear into the background. We talked a few more times after the wedding, but we just lived to far apart. He was a GREAT friend, tho'.

Her name is or was at the time Holly Temple. We was freinds for about 1 year and then my family moved. (Airforce Dad) I have never found her again. But I still think of her alot.That was 28 years ago I will never forget her.

I made my first best friend when I was 10. He was my classmate & the best "best friend" I have ever made! Our friendship started when he started bullying me! But i tried to stand up, I think he liked that, so we became real fast friends. He was not a regular bully, there were some reasons for the bullying & I never saw him bullying anyone after that. I'm not keen on the expression 'best friend'. By definition there can only be one thing that is the best of anything and I don't think friendship's a competitive or comparative thing. I also don't think that many of us have very many real friends anyway, probably lots of people with whom we are friendly, but very few who are utterly reliable when the chips are down. My longest lasting friendship is over 30 years old and both of us would drop whatever we are doing at a moment's notice to go to the aid of the other. We know this because we've both done it.

My best friend was a guy who I joined cub scouts with in 1967. I eventually joined the army and he joined the air force and we ended up living on opposite sides of the country but we always stayed in touch. We were friends for 39 years till he died sept 17th of 2006.

I've had three best friends throughout my life and only one of them is currently still my best friend. I grew apart from the other two, but still keep in touch sometimes. Such is life. Anyway, the girl who is my best friend...We met such a long time ago that no one in our family remembers exactly how we met or when. I've known her for as long as I can remember and we grew up across the street from one another. I hope to stay close with her forever, but I just started college this past fall.
