Maybe it's one of those "easier said than done" or "what one can't do, one teaches" type things. I guess if they are divorced they can advise what NOT to do in a relationship?

It means they are being hypocrites, how can a preacher be a preacher if he/she is comitting adultery?? If you are going to give advice BE the example.

Why not? Some expert advice may be: "Don't get married."

The same way politicians and talking heads-Bob Dole, Newt Genrich, Rush Limbaugh for starters-can be three or four time divorcees and claim to be experts on "family values".

hahaha lol well they can be an "expert" on how to make them fail haha so i guess technically they can be thought of as an "expert" just not the expert you were thinking

could be an expert at communications with your children, leading a team at work, or romance. i've learned a whole lot more from my failings than i ever learned from my successes. and, since i fail so often, i ought to be an expert on just about everything now, especially humility.

I think they are probably better qualified to be a relationship expert if they have been divorced. They know what not to do as well as what to do.

many people just know how to fix things but choose not to. this is a perfect example of "easier said than done". they know exactly how to fix things when looking in but get all jumbled up with emotions when they are in their own
